This is a photo at a local bonfire which took place on November 5th 2009. It was to celebrate bonfire night. I like how the wind blew the flames in this shot.
Bonfire night is the night Guy Fawkes was stopped from blowing up parliment, however I think people celebrate that he almost did blow it up rather than him getting caught! But then I think it's just become a night like many other events/holidays where people just have fun and forget the real reason why they are doing all this...
haha I was kinda close enough, the heat where I was standing was immense! The wind kept blowing the flames right into my direction and kept throwing out loads of little bits of the bonfire. It was awesome lol, any closer and I would have probably got burnt...that wouldn't have been fun, might have got some cool up close pics though!
I don't think there were any police at the one I went to. Just a few people who work at the building and some metal barricades. But I think that's just for safety as you always get someone who wants to get that little too close and cause problems for everyone else you know?
Ohokay, well what ever those chaps in fluorescent orange and barricades, would have doubled the fun if they weren't there. No but I get what you mean by when you say it was there for safety, and for the pyromaniacs out there. But I guess I haven't been to one that is't hosted at hidden beaches.
